MOBERG & MACKRELL HONORED Senior forward Stephanie Moberg (Saratoga Springs, N.Y. /Northwood School) of Plattsburgh State earned Player of the Year in the Women's West. Moberg scored 17 goals and added 14 assists for 31 points. Her teammate Mandy Mackrell (Cleveland, Ohio/Ohio Flames) was voted Goalie of the Year. She led the league in winning percentage at a .962 clip, while also compiling a .937 save percentage and a 1.30 goals against average. Forward Kim Schlattman (Stratford, Ontario/Cambridge Fury) of the Rochester Institute of Technology earned Rookie of the Year honors. Schlattman tied for first for freshmen scoring with four goals and 14 assists for 18 points.
Kevin Houle of Plattsburgh State has been named Coach of the Year in the ECAC Women's West. Houle led the Cardinals to an unbeaten run in ECAC league play, with an impressive 17-0-1 record. The 17 league wins are the most in Cardinal's team history. As the top seed in the playoffs, Plattsburgh will play host for the Women's West semifinals and championship game this weekend.
Joining Moberg and Mackrell on the first team are RIT's dynamic duo of Katie Stack (Batavia, N.Y./Rochester Edge) and Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks). Dagg leads the league in scoring with 35 points on 13 goals and 22 assists, while Stack added 26 points on 22 goals and four assists. The All-ECAC Women's West First Team defensemen are Elmira's Jamie Kivi (Green Bay, Wis./Wisconsin Wild U-19), who led all defenseman in scoring with 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points and Plattsburgh's Kara Buehler (Skaneateles, N.Y./Syracuse Stars).
