Kudroch Joins Cardinals

CardinalHockey.Net is happy to report that former Leamington Flyer, Kyle Kudroch, will be attending Plattsburgh State University this fall.

The former Flyer captain joins the Cardinals after five seasons with Leamington According to Steve Price, the Director of Hockey and Coach with the Leamington Flyers, “Kyle is an explosive skater and possesses a great shot. He can play special teams with his skating ability on both the penalty kill and power play.” The Leamington coach also feels Kyle will be a great fit for Plattsburgh’s style of play. “Plattsburgh plays an in your face style and they have won with it, which will suit Kyle's style of play just right.”

Plattsburgh assistant coach Steve Moffat issued similar sentiments on the Flyers website saying, "Kyle is a good solid player with a terrific shot that could be used in all situations. He will challenge players for penalty kill and power play time. The Cardinals play an in your face style of hockey, and that style suits Kyle's game and hard work ethic, which he will bring to the team."

The 5-11, 175lb forward from Cottam, Ontario played 49 games last season with the Flyers. In those 49 games Kyle scored 27 goals and 33 assists for 60 points. On the season Kyle had 11 power play goals, 3 short handed goals, and 6 game winning goals.

Kyle also played in the 2008 GOJHL Top Prospect Game.
