CARDS SWEEP MUSTANGS WITH 6-2 WIN

For the second night in a row, the Cards took advantage of the Mustangs in a 6-2 win at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. The Cards scored four goals on the man advantage, for a weekend total of nine power-play goals.

TJ Cooper making his season debut, got the Cards on the board at the 5:00 mark of the first period. Cooper's was the team's first five-on-five goal on the weekend. Morrisville responded at 9:27 and left the period with a 1-1 tie.

Plattsburgh scored two power-play goals early in the second. Eric Satim picked up his first goal as a Cardinal at 3:24 and Nick Rolls scored his first of two on the night at 6:34. Morrisville responded with a tally from Joseph Herman, who rifled a shot over the shoulder of Cardinal netminder Simon LeBlanc. Plattsburgh regained a two goal lead at 17:07 of the second, when Kyle VanderMale scored on a break-away.

Plattsburgh added two more power-play goals in the third with Nick Rolls and Dylan Clarke lighting the lamp.

Freshmen Simon LeBlanc picked up his first win for the Cards in nets. The Cards outshot Morrisville 48-18 in the contest and are now 2-0-0 on the season.

The Cards are now off until next Friday, when they host rival Potsdam State.
