The Cards had a ‘special’ night, as they exploded for four power-play goals in the 2nd period in a 5-1 win over Morrisville State in SUNYAC play.
The Mustangs scored first in the contest, taking a 1-0 lead after the first period despite being outshot 15 to 5.
The second period was all Plattsburgh. The Cards took advantage of a power-play early in the second period as Ward Smith netted the first of his two goals on the night. Smith finished the game with four points, which was a career high for the defensemen.
Also scoring in the contest was Riley Hill, Ryan Burke, & Dylan Clarke. Clarke’s goal was a career first and the eventual game winner.
The Cardinals went 5-for-9 on the power-play and outshot Morrisville 50-9 in the contest.
Freshmen goaltender Bryan Hince picked up his first win as a Cardinal.
Same two teams will go at it again tomorrow night at 7PM.
