Cardinals Team Up with Special Olympics
CardinalHockey.Net
The Plattsburgh State Athletics Department and the local Special Olympics chapter of Clinton and Essex counties will host the Special Athletes for Special Olympics Walk on Sunday, Sep. 2nd, at the SUNY Plattsburgh Fieldhouse. The event will take place from 2-5 p.m., rain or shine.

The public and media are encouraged to attend this walk and cookout to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics. Only a $5 donation per registrant is requested.

Registration and a concert performed by Lucid will be at 2 p.m., followed by a 2-mile walk starting and ending at the Fieldhouse at 3 p.m. After the walk, there will be basketball games and fans will have an opportunity to meet and get autographs from their favorite Cardinal student-athletes. Sodexho Campus Services will have food and beverages available.

A year ago, the Special Olympics received over $3000 in donations and approximately 600 people attended the event, exceeding both goals. Both Plattsburgh Athletics and Special Olympics look to improve upon those numbers this season.

For more information on Special Olympics, call (518) 834-1188, then extension 103, or write to 18 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, N.Y., 12901.
